Social Dance Competition
Our Social Dance Competition will be in a Jack and Jill format where every participant competes individually.
That means that you don’t need to join with a partner, as dancers will be matched up randomly and everyone will be evaluated individually and not as a couple.
It is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity. But the most important thing is that you will have fun and challenge yourself!

✦ Rising Stars Category ✦
(You have danced atleast 1+ year)
✪ Participation is 15€
✦ The competition is limited to 20 couples ( 20 Leaders + 20 Followers )
✦ Minimum number of participants is 5 couples to make the competition!
✦ Any dancer is allowed to join as any role (Leader/Follower) but they need to keep the same role through the competition to keep the correct ratio
✦ To compete in Jack & Jill, you are required to either have a Fullpass or Party Pass, single party tickets are not valid.

▶ SCHEDULE ◀

✪ The competition will happen in 2 rounds: Elimination & Finals
✪ Eliminations will happen Saturday 18:30-20:00 where we will do 2 rounds to judge Leaders + Followers separately with 5~ songs each round
✪ For Finals we will choose 4 Leaders + 4 Followers
✪ Finals will happen at midnight on the Saturday Party 00:00 (before the shows)

▶ JUDGING CRITERIA ◀
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
1) TECHNIQUE: in bachata elements, cleanliness, styling
2) MUSICALITY: matching the style of the music (Sensual, Fusion, Dominican). Following the music structure, rhythm and musical elements, e.g. accents, breaks, syncopations etc.
3) CONNECTION: leading/following skills and quality, the ability between partners to understand each other and have fun

▶ RULES ◀

✪ Dance couples will be matched up randomly
✪ You must be prepared to participate 15 minutes before the competition starts
✪ Your number tag should be displayed visibly during the whole competition
✪ Participants will rotate dance partners in every round
✪ Acrobatics over the head or when both feet are off the ground are forbidden
✪ Respect each other by using appropriate language
✪ Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of teaching or dancing experience
✪ Above all, the key rule is to… Enjoy yourself and have fun!

✪ The competition will have 3 sets of Bachata music styles; Sensual, Fusion & Dominican!
✪ For each set of Bachata music style the organisation will pre-select 10 songs, that the participants will have access to before the competition
✪ Songs of the competition will be chosen by the participants or audience, not by the judges or organisation
